Thank you for joining the 2021 Sandy Area Chamber of Commerce Trick-or-Treat Trail sponsored by Sandy’s Helping Hands, scheduled for Saturday, October 30th from 1:00pm-4:00pm. As a participating location, you will receive a Trick-or-Treat Trail window sign on the day of the 30th. Please mount the sign on your window or door. The sign lets the kids know you are participating. We will collect the window signs from participating businesses after the event, between 4pm and 5pm.
Participation (Vendors/Business) Requirements
Participation in this event is simple: all you need to do is hand out candy to Trick-or-Treaters during the event and display event poster, provided by the Chamber.
Last year’s Drive Thru Trick-or-Treat Trail was a huge success. This year we will go back to our traditional trail through the downtown of Sandy. With Covid we aren’t sure what the turn out will be this year. If it was a normal year, we would recommend that you plan for 2,000 or more Trick-or-Treaters, however this year could be less. (In 2019, we had about 2,200 trick-or-treaters)
We will not be hosting a costume contest as part of the event this year. We are trying to minimize people waiting to take photos and milling around photo op locations, as we feel it would be hard to social distance at these stops.
On the day of the event, Trick-or-Treaters are invited to pick up a map of participating businesses at AntFarm Cafe, Pacific Pioneer Real Estate, The Sandy Historical Museum, The UPS Store or Tollgate Inn Bakery. From there, they can proceed to any business marked on the map to begin trick-or-treating.
Here are some suggestions and ideas to enhance the event in your business:
- If possible, set up a table outside your business to help with social distancing
- Decorate your business and windows in a Halloween/Harvest theme
- Invite your employees to dress up in costume on the day of the event
- Pass out small promotional products or coupons along with the candy
- Arrange displays to accommodate the number of participants and increase visibility to parents
THANK YOU for helping to make the Trick-or-Treat Trail a success! If you have any questions or comments, please contact Sandy Area Chamber of Commerce at 503.668.4006, or by email at TrickOrTreat@sandyoregonchamber.org
