Executive Director • Full-Time

The Executive Director is a hands-on leadership position responsible for the non-profit Hull Foundation and Learning Center’s mission, goals, and strategic plan.

The organization’s headquarters are located at Oral Hull Park in Sandy, Oregon. www.hullparkfortheblind.org

Mission: Our mission is to provide facilities, programs, and services to include social, educational, and recreational activities for people who are blind or visually impaired.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university or commensurate experience which demonstrates the knowledge, skills and abilities required to perform the duties as described
  • Confident, congenial, socially comfortable personality required to build relationships with a variety of constituents, including key donors
  • Experience collaborating with, motivating, and engaging a volunteer Board of Directors Preference given for 4 years or more of successful fundraising for a non-profit organization that includes major campaigns and events
  • Must have financial and budget experience that demonstrates the ability to plan, implement, and manage budgets and forecast accurately
  • Must be able to travel as needed and required Preference given for experience working with non-profits, blind and sight loss individuals, or other disabilities
  • Must, at a minimum, have 2 years management experience to include hiring, coaching, performance management, and daily operations supervision
  • Must be knowledgeable of administration practices and procedures and the laws, regulations, and guidelines governing a 501(C)(3) non-profit organization

The Executive Director’s Essential Duties:

  • Work closely with the Board of Directors to achieve the Foundation’s mission, financial goals, and strategic plans
  • Acts as the primary steward of the organization’s brand, mission, vision, and values Provides direction and manages all day-to-day operations and program activities Hire, supervise, train and coach paid staff, contract employees and volunteers
  • Prepare and manage budgets and fundraising campaigns
  • Serve as an ambassador between the Foundation and the community
  • Coordinate and monitor community outreach and social media activities
  • Ensure timely maintenance of all facilities at Oral Hull Park Implement innovative ideas for programs and activities
  • Communicate effectively in public relations and fundraising
  • Apply for private and government grants
  • Fulfills other duties as assigned by the Board Guide the organization to abide by all laws, and to be ethical, financially accountable, and a good steward of all donations

Housekeeper • Part-Time

Cleaning would include dormitory rooms, lodge, rec. room, and restrooms.
Experience preferred but not necessary.
Hourly rate based on experience.
Flexible hours.
We can work around other jobs and schedules.
Training to begin immediately upon hire.

Skills:
* Be able to communicate effectively with supervisor and staff.
* Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
* Be able to stoop, bend, reach, kneel, lift 25 pounds., maneuver twin mattresses, and stand for varying periods.
* Be able to work flexible hours, 1-3 days, which may include weekdays and weekends. General start time 9/10 a.m. with up to three-to-six-hour shifts.
* Must be able to work independently and with team members.

Year-round Grounds & Basic Maintenance • Part-Time

This is a part-time position Tuesday through Friday (9-3pm) and pays $16.00 per hour. The right candidate for this position will have an upbeat and positive attitude, shows initiative, can learn and grow, as well as communicate effectively.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 1-2 years’ prior facilities and/or minor building maintenance and lawn care (mowing, weeding, trimming, etc.) experience preferred.
  • Ability to use basic tools and lawn equipment (use a commercial riding lawn mower) such as weed eater, blower, etc.
  • Ability to organize and perform maintenance on various building and lawn equipment tools and machines.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds, bend, stoop, stand and climb ladders, use a chain saw and other landscaping equipment.
  • May be asked to drive business owned truck/vans. Valid driver license with no critical incidents or DUI convictions in the past 5 years.
  • Manage, organize, and keep the large shop inventoried and clean.
  • Ability to manage varied projects such as repairing outdoor benches, painting railings, small home/office repair type jobs.
  • Willing to submit information for a criminal background check.
  • Must follow business COVID protocol for health and welfare per the Foundation’s policies.
  • Other outdoor and indoor needs as they come up.
