Time to “Play” with the Sandy Actors Theatre
Get out of the cold and enjoy some heart-warming laughs this winter with the presentation of “The Last Romance”, a play by Tony Award winner Joe DiPietro.
“The Last Romance” is a story about an octogenarian widower name Ralph, and how a crush can make anyone feel young again. He tries to regain the happiness he thought he’d lost by wooing the elegant, but distant, Carol. Using his renewed boyish charm, he embarks on the trip of a lifetime.
The Play runs February 8 – March 3.

Sandy Actors Theatre began in June 1976 as the One Way Theatre in Sandy, Oregon. In March 1979, the group became known as The Sandy Community Players. Sandy Community Players performed in many locations within Sandy before finding its home in Heritage Square. The theater saw many different theatrical perspectives throughout its history. SCP was known for producing musical productions with elaborate sets and costumes, and for a time became known for its children’s theater. In 1999 a shift began to emerge producing a full season of comedy, drama and children’s productions. In the summer of 2000, we again changed our name, to better reflect our commitment to continually raise the level of our production values.
Sandy Actors Theatre is a nonprofit 501(c)(3), whose mission is to develop and nurture community members of all ages with an interest in the theatre by providing quality live theatre at affordable prices, mentoring and workshops. Through our partnership with the community we will not only provide opportunities for individuals to learn but to participate in all aspects of community theatre, from business to acting to production.
