New Executive Slate at Sandy Area Chamber
Sandy, OR, January 22, 2013.The Sandy Area Chamber of Commerce announced today the resignation of SACC Board President Laura Allen.
 
“Laura Allen has been a valuable director of the SACC since 2010. We acknowledge all of the good work that she has accomplished on behalf of the Chamber. She has resigned for personal reasons and we wish her only the best,” said Jerry Knowlton, Chamber Treasurer.
 
At its January meeting, the board elected two new directors to fill existing vacancies on the executive committee: Madeleine Eno (In The Write Place), President; Lisa Foster-Albertus (LT Travel), Vice President. Roz Rushing (Gerens’ Farm Supply/PartyLite) and Jerry Knowlton (Jerry H. Knowlton CLU, Inc.) will continue their terms as Secretary and Treasurer.
 
“As we start the new year, the board is ready and eager to get back to work on behalf of Chamber members,” said Eno. “Our goal is to revitalize the programs we offer and enhance the benefits of being a member—and to stay connected with members as we keep our eyes on our mission: ‘Supporting business. Growing community.’”
 
In other changes, Office Manager Karey Milne has taken on additional responsibilities as the Chamber’s new Member Services Manager. Vice-President Lisa Foster-Albertus will chair the newly reinstituted Ambassadors program, which will create more opportunities for members to visit and shop at area businesses.
 
As reported earlier, several committees are handling much of the day-to-day functioning of the Chamber. The Budget, Career Education, Marketing, Events/Fundraising, Government Affairs, Economic Development and Board Development Committees each welcome volunteers interested in being involved. All meeting details will be posted at sandyoregonchamber.org.
 
The board also invites members and the public to attend their monthly meetings (3rd Tuesdays at 6 p.m.) and to talk with any director with suggestions for improving the business community. The additional directors are: Rodney Barker (Mount Hood Community College), Andreanne Rode (Otto’s Ski Shop), Kathy Edwards (Clackamas County Bank), Jay McRostie (Young Twedt McRostie, LLP), Mary Forrest (Farmers Insurance), Hannah Smith (TCBY), and Terry Lenchitsky. There is one vacant seat that will be filled in the near future.
 
The Sandy Area Chamber of Commerce has served citizens and businesses of Sandy for more than 50 years. With 250 members, the Chamber provides networking, advocacy and education for local businesses. www.sandyoregonchamber.org.
